'It's only gotten worse': Trump voters turn on president after cost-of-living fail

Voters who supported Donald Trump are turning on the president as they say his response to the cost-of-living crisis has been a "let down".
Some who voted for the president in previous elections say the situation has "only gotten worse" as they find themselves relying on credit and struggle to manage their finances. Speaking to CNN, Jenique Jones, a three-time Trump voter, says the president has failed the voter base who are now struggling to make ends meet.
Trump had promised to get a better grip on the economy during his re-election campaign, but credit specialist Jones, from Pennsylvania, feels as though the country is worse off under policies the Trump administration has introduced.
CNN's John King asked, "We changed presidents at the beginning of the year, and the guy who moved into the White House said that he was going to fix it. Has he fixed it?
Jones replied, "Absolutely not. Im definitely waiting for him to fix it.
Im very let down by that because I feel like its only gotten worse. Pretty much just a whole bunch of financial mess." Jones also said that her business as a credit specialist being busy is "absolutely" a sign the cost-of-living crisis is getting worse.

The September jobs report more than doubled market expectations adding 119,000 new jobs to the American economy. In stark contrast to the disastrous Biden economy, almost all of these new jobs were in the private sector and went to American-born workers instead of illegal aliens. This strong report is more proof that President Trumps pro-growth, America First agenda is already making great progress, and it will continue to deliver positive results for American families and businesses.
......And while the details from the White House were wrong, the bigger picture is worse.
Job growth in the first year of Donald Trumps second term is on pace to be the worst since the Great Recession (excluding 2020, when the pandemic wreaked havoc on the economy). Were also seeing increased corporate layoffs and weak retail hiring as the holiday season approaches.
Whats more, the unemployment rate has reached a four-year high, job openings are at a four-year low, and leading members of Trumps own economic team have gone so far as to concede in recent weeks that parts of the U.S. economy are already in recession.
Confronted with these facts, the White House press secretary boasted that Trumps America First agenda is already making great progress. If the goal was to make the nations job market worse, then yes, the administrations progress is remarkable. But if the point was to improve economic conditions, Leavitt and her colleagues appear to have things backward......
The latest polling suggests the strategy is failing badly, but Leavitts reaction to the latest employment report makes clear that the White House intends to keep telling the public not to believe what is plainly true: Trumps agenda isnt working.
