2. People need to stop with this bullshit.

The September numbers were completed BEFORE the shutdown. The numbers are completed by the end of the day Tuesday before Friday release. Wednesday and Thursday are used to prepare the release. The shutdown started Wednesday morning, October 1. There is nothing remotely questionable about these data. The lifetime career statisticians will NEVER allow manipulated data to be released without it being called out.

Enough with the conspiracy theories. You end up smearing dedicated honest civil servants who do their job honestly every day.

And the BLS Commissioner who was fired has absolutely ZERO role in "computing the numbers". The numbers are "computed" by career civil servants. The Commissioner doesn't see the numbers until after they are finalized. And finally, there is a current ACTING BLS Commissioner - Bill Wiatrowski - who is absolutely a man of honesty and integrity who has served in that role under Republicans AND Democrats.

The data are legit. Period.
