Fuck. I'm up at 3 A.M. because my

Reticular activating system is on edge…

This country is going to have to fall far before it can right itself if it ever can. A lot of people are going to suffer and many may die, as they did during Covid, but 1) apparently no one wielding any sort of power really gives a shit and 2) there is no collective memory any longer so events such as the pandemic and 1/6 are ancient history unworthy of discussing or reflecting upon.

You don’t like it? Well neither do I, but you know what? I don’t like dental caries, periodontal disease, or oral pathology but it’s my life and I have wallowed in it for nearly fifty years. It’s debilitating, it’s occasionally tragic, and often very upsetting but “that’s life”. We live in an age not of reason, but of memes, bro’s, porno, sports, and music, the last of which is so electronically engineered that it is unrecognizable from that which entered the microphone or input jack. It is wholly representational of the lying phoniness of our existence.

And I’ll tell you why I’m really angry: the present administration should have gone after these seditious miscreants hammer and tongs. In retrospect there was nothing to lose by doing that and it allowed them to rehabilitate themselves with people like Ari Melber and his ilk saying, “We want to be fair…”. No such line from the Republicans was there? Instead, a convict was re-elected to the Presidency. Congratulations-you’ve set some record for incompetence and poor judgement and history, if one exists, will not regard you well.

Fuck.

And, I am not an insomniac.

Perhaps I am deluding myself but, I just can’t believe this is happening - I know how much Joe Biden loves this country. I want so badly to believe that he’s working behind the scenes to bring this evil cabal down- but HOW?? Miller, Bannon, Musk etc- There are so many of them- Evil, traitorous jerks.

The MSM seems devoid of reality & totally paid off to speak of nothing of any substance.

I dread being with Repug family during the holidays.

Please, try to stay strong. You are not alone.
We need some good trouble. 🤞

I did have a chuckle, though. Sorry, but one of my jobs in grad school was teaching anatomy and physiology classes and it's been a while since I've seen "Reticular activating system" references.

Could be worse PCI. Could be narcolepsy.

I woke up at a little before 3:00 am. I’ve been sleeping terribly all week.

I’m going to go make some coffee.

To be honest, I haven’t watched very much news this week. It hurts too much.

J6 was the worst crime against the United States by domestic enemies since Fort Sumter. The fact that the chief perpetrator will again become Commander in Chief must first be laid at the feet of Merrick Garland. Low information idiots and Maga morons could not have elected The Felon if he was in prison before the 2024 primaries began.

The consequences of the next four years will bite them in the A$$ as much as the rest of us and there is a certain justice in that, but injustice will be heaped upon tens of millions who tried to prevent this calamity and children who had no say in their future.

I too have not been able to sleep, typing away here at 4:30am. I will try to ignore the horrid orange plague the best I can, but ultimately it is inescapable for anyone who cares about our democracy, human rights, the environment, and the future.

I could never sleep the last time he won. 4 yrs of insomnia never really relaxed until Biden won. It was hard to go in to work after not sleeping. Then the Covid shut down and I didn't have to go in, helped some. This time at least I am retired. But suddenly awake not being able to relax still is bad.

What Maddow said last night about Democrats also voting for the proposed bill to grant a president the unilateral authority to declare NGOs and media outlets "terrorist organizations" made me throw up. I still can't believe it. It doesn't matter if the current president won't abuse his authority, you never give that power to one person. I'm sure people like Jaimie Raskin and Adam Schiff--knowing what they know about the authoritarian playbook--couldn't possibly vote for a bill like that. But why didn't somebody wake up the rest of the Dems and warn them how foolish it was to vote for a bill like that????

That bill won't pass the Senate, but we will see a new form of it in January or February that will sail right through both houses.

But I woke up at 2:45 am this morning and was happy for a minute- then I remembered that drumpf was re-elected and I got that dread feeling. It’s happened every morning for the last week. I really don’t need to feel this way for the next four years - and probably beyond.
Fuck, indeed

Why do so many politicians who were supposed to be the team for our side, care more about, whether it "will make us look bad?"
So we are to be left abandoned and defenseless, just so they can still say, "We are morally better than they are? "We are rule followers?" I know I keep repeating myself, but how is standing around while others are brutalized and stripped of all rights though they have done nothing to deserve it, taking the high ground ?

What happened to their oath to protecting us from all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC?

I am pretty much ticked off at most of them, but AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and Letitia James.

Also question what good are laws if "privileged people," are allowed to break them with impunity and face absolutely no consequences no matter how many others they hurt and will continue to hurt? That's justice to you?

What can you say after this? There's really nothing to say. Failed to go after him TIMELY... why? Because the election would take care of him? So we don't get to have any justice at all. I'm not sure I'll be able to forgive this one.

being too obedient and not wanting to venture outside of the norms even when the other kid is outside of the box and wreaking havoc. Maybe others can think of a more better analogy.

I'm not going to point a finger at one host on MSNBC, remember Ari Member did get Peter Navarro to confess to a coup plot which sent him to jail.

I'll blame others for dragging their feet and 'Playing Nice.'

Playing nice has never worked out for us!

In the 1978 studio LP "An American Prayer," Jim Morrison notes that "we are ruled by TV." I think that he was correct. Things have changed. The general public is hypnotized by cell phones these days.
