Now I have since I googled it and sadly it's probably what we are facing

It would be like if MAGA suddenly purged a bunch of famous MAGAs (like, for example, Stephen Miller going after Lara Trump, etc., or Lewandowski getting Wiles fired, etc.). I mean, I'm sure something like this is coming, and in the first few months. Trump might actually kneecap Musk, who seems to be getting too big for his breeches. That would be more analagous to the Night of the Long KNives, in my view.

The larger point is definitely true: fascism has these start-up events during the consolidation of power, and since fascist regimes always pit the various underlings against each other, the consolidation events often include violence internal to the fascist entity. The Night of the Long Knives was the consolidation of the Himmler's SS against Roehm's Sturmabteilung, which also did Hitler the service of getting rid of the only other person who could plausibly lead the Party.
