I would say that most are deactivating, but in every group there are 1 or 2 who say they're going to keep their membership because of the information they've posted, but wouldn't add to it.

4. I tried to deactivate my Twitter/X account but couldn't remember my password and was unable to create a new one...

I will try again later, also, it has been so long since I used that account (don't use it) that I created it apparently with an email address I no longer use...so I'm screwed for the time being....F*** X and Melon Husk...

5. I joined BlueSky a couple of days ago

And just deactivated my Twitter account. I haven’t been on it for a very long time- I don’t need the hatefulness- so no point in keeping the account. Plus I dont want my account to be credited to Elmo’s subscriber numbers. Every little account that’s gone helps.

6. I quit when Space Nazi bought it...

… and it looks like a LOT of people are just plain leaving now. Bluesky feels much like Twitter did back in the day and I’ve seen damned few people I feel I need to block. It’s generally an upbeat, creative, and supportive group of giddy transplants.

And cat pix. LOTS and lots of cat pix.

Many thanks to whoever it was here who I first saw steer people there. It’s a great place to decompress after… *gestures* all this in the last week.

7. I deleted my X account and joined Bluesky right after the election.

I am really enjoying it. It does feel like Twitter was when I first joined there. No hateful right wing comments to every post. And I've been able to find most of my favorite posters there! There are still a few who haven't made the move yet, but I will keep checking for them. The only issue I've seen with Bluesky is I've come across a few impersonators - someone saying they are someone they are not. There have been a couple of accounts impersonating Mark Hamill, but the Bluesky administrators have caught most of these and flagged them.

14. I managed to change my Twitter/X password and it allowed me to deactivate Elon's hellscape Twitter...yea...

don't know why I had to do this but I'm happy it worked...F**k Musk/Trump...
