(22,996 posts)on Fox new, When I looked through the channels I couldn't find MSNBC.
This is not the first time Fox was available and MSNBC wasn't. The Dems have to figure out a way into everyday people's lives.

(94,598 posts)They can and should do better.
A couple of times Ive politely asked a waiting-room receptionist if her employer requires her to keep FOX on, and if she says its not a job requirement I ask if she can change the channel to something else. Even soap operas or kids cartoons would be better.

(14,278 posts)Not just a boycott of Trumpers because they make you angry. It's a red flag that they should not be trusted.
If someone admires a con-man, they are more likely to do the same in their dealings.

(6,483 posts)One of those quick change shops, I forget the company.
In the waiting room was a small color TV. Fox News was on.
I got up to change the station, only to discover that Fox was the ONLY station on the TV.
Since I couldn't change the channel, I turned the tv OFF.
I never went back to that business.

(10,775 posts)Twenty years ago, I used to keep my tv remote in my gym bag so I could change the channel since they had the same brand of tv I did.
Now I have a USB infrared dongle that turns my phone into a universal remote. I don't put up with that shit on tv if it's a place I really want or need to go.

(109,546 posts)According to this, airports have signed contracts with networks. For some reason Sea Tac airport, in a county where 74% voted for Kamala, plays Fox News in its waiting areas.

(10,775 posts)Works great. I can nearly always change the channel to something else, and if their system doesn't use the TV channels (cable box etc) I can at least turn it off.
A lot of people have suggested TV-B-Gone

I got one and it didn't seem to work as well.
Either way, shut the shit off or leave.

(2,649 posts)and the office had fox on. I asked them to change the channel to anything but news channels including CNN, MSNBC etc just so
no one else would get upset not having fox. They put on a music channel and the tv has stayed on that channel ever since.

(16,747 posts)Once I drove to Phoenix to visit one of my sisters at a hospital and Fox News was playing in the waiting room. It was during the Anthony Weiner "scandal." I had to wait four or five hours to see her. It was excruciating.
Needless to say, I think it shows really terrible judgment to show Fox News in a hospital waiting room. That was some time ago, however; hopefully their policy has changed.
