Leon Musk got a judge to investigate the bidding process how The Onion got the bid.
Meanwhile, after Jone's Austin headquarters was shut down, the next day Jones was broadcasting from another location.
It does get pretty depressing and it will get much worse when the autocracy begins.

This is why there have been reports of Trump being upset with Musk, he just found out that he is just a figure head. Musk will allow Trump to golf and grift.

Do you think the Dem party will be smart enough to use these examples to convince the people, which party was more inclined to use government against the people?

I dont really get it, and Im sure its two or three Nazis sticking up for each other, but Jones will lose his crappy, white wing, site. Probably isnt worth much anyway.

(21,873 posts)This is as I understand it Please forgive any errors or misunderstandings on my part:
The Onion did not have the highest bid, however some/all of the Sandy Hook families offered to forgive debts if The Onion won.
In the end, the people owning the debt came out better with the Onion win, but the Onion wasn't the highest bidder.
While there is arguably a case to be made, it would seem that all of the involved parties with an actual stake would seem to support the Onion.

(19,558 posts)But that really is a mute point IMO. Auctioneers work with the buyers & sellers until both parties are happy
with or at least accepting of all the small print in the contract to sell something and when they say SOLD
thats good in a court of law for ownership/titles.
But I can see Musk paying a Judge under the table to come out and say "Who the hell hired this idiot
auction company ? Find a new one and start over!"

Hi friends!
I wanted to give a quick update on The Onions purchase of InfoWars, which we cant wait to relaunch as the dumbest site on the internet.
Long and short of it: We won the bid and you're not going to believe it the previous InfoWars folks aren't taking it well.
@oneunderscore__
On Thursday, the person overseeing the auction told us that The Onions bid for InfoWars, along with the Connecticut Sandy Hook families, won.
We havent heard anything that changed that except, of course, from the guys currently running InfoWars, doing InfoWars stuff.
@oneunderscore__
There was a status conference with the judge overseeing the auction on Thursday shortly after we were deemed winners.
The judge had some questions about process and assets. Were glad hes doing that, since our bid with the families is clearly the best and transparency is even better.
@oneunderscore__
We left the hearing with clear next steps to complete the sale. InfoWars current management asked to continue operating until then.
We always knew the guys who currently run InfoWars were going to take this badly and use a loss to fundraise off of it. They did not disappoint!
@oneunderscore__
Obviously, when the current operators of InfoWars went back to operating as a business, they used that to falsely say the auction had been overturned and allege some truly wacky stuff. Something about Saul Alinsky? God bless em.
@oneunderscore__
We expected all of this, obviously. Buying this site was always going to be fun later on, but annoying right away.
Anyway, we look forward to completing this process at the next scheduled court date which, at present, is a week from Monday.
@oneunderscore__
We think its all worth it to make a better, funnier future possible. As always: Tu Stultus Es.
Jones is currently continuing to broadcast because the site and its assets haven't been handed over yet.

If someone wants to find the tweets, there's enough info there to search for them.
I can see how it could be confusing in this case, though.

(7,926 posts)I've made my opinion clear in other replies elsewhere about the fact that posting them adds nothing to Musk's bottom line. I just don't feel like getting into that debate every time I post from Twitter! And there is still some useful information on there.

A judge intervened to stop an auction that already happened.
On a Sunday
In what courthouse?
Did other court staff arrive ?
Was this done by a writ?
A judge is investigating your link claims.
This is not France. In America we do not have investigating judges.
What documents were filed? For what action did Elon Musk allegedly move? What were the arguments? Where can I read the court docket at the very very least?
On a Sunday this happened supposedly with no court record it occurred. That makes absolutely no sense.
