'He's traumatized' Charles County parents speak out after 7-year-old was 'hanged' in an elementary school bathroom

A Charles County family is speaking out Saturday after their 7-year-old son ended up in the hospital after an incident at his elementary school.

The boy's mom posted about her son's experience online and it has since gone viral, with over 215,000 likes on Instagram as of Saturday night.

"My child who is a second grader was hung in the boys' bathroom by a fourth grader," the mother's social media post said Saturday. "I received the most traumatizing phone call from the school stating that my child was being rushed to children's hospital in NW ... I'm feeling anger and seeing red, but my son is here by the grace of GOD, and I will forever be thankful!"

The parents are angry and confused but also thankful that their son is still alive.

“If you look at my son, he has marks under his eyes, like blood vessels, he still has bruises on his neck from being choked,” the boy's parents said, both fighting tears.

District is claiming "Horseplay" but from the rest of the story it sounds like bullying to me.

And then hangs another student.

These are adult words, the bad 7 year heard this from an adult.

And that kid old enough to know better but he has apparently grown up surrounded by hate for poc. And of course the school is sticking with it was horseplay nonsense.

I hope the little boy can get past this, but it will take some time.

This is a child who heard and saw this behavior first hand by an adult in his environment.
Perhaps someone did it to him and he is acting out his abuse.

The evaluation is obvious and straightforward.

Trauma from a single act of violence in childhood can be treated quite well with therapy
and a loving, supportive, kind parents and family.

by a licensed psychiatrist or psychologist prior to having the suspension lifted. There's "horseplay" and bullying, and then there's psychotic behavior, and that kid would scare the hell out of me if he was my child.

This is a huge problem in schools today. And with bullies in charge of our government soon, bullying is going to get a lot worse everywhere across the country. Such a sad commentary on the mentality of Americans today, Fox News brain.

And it is usually someone who is innocent. That crap is learned at home, time to hold them accountable.

Nick Fuentes ran into hiding when he was Doxed . The parents of this kid and the kid can go into hiding.

Sorry, I have no more compassion for the right wing harassment.

Doxing the parents is the same as doxing the child. It would take minimal effort to get the child's name knowing the address and parents' names

Based on the video, I’m guessing the parents and second grader are black. The 4th grader’s statement saying “I’m going to show you how I did people back in the day,” could easily be interpreted as a KKK type statement threatening black people. Trump’s election is already having a negative impact on safety in schools.

they'd say "boys will be boys, oopsie!" and they would know that they can do anything and never face consequences.

Well, they already know that they never have to face consequences.

Horseplay my ass.

The school district should be required to pay for any private school the child could go to and for whatever psychological help he needs. The fourth grader should be evaluated by the school and treatment recommended if warranted.

Everyone clicked on the story to see if a boy was left hanging by a rope in the boys restroom... when his jacket was actually hanging from a coat hook on a stall door.

It's still a case of extreme bullying...

But it's clickbait and inflammatory.
