(46,303 posts)Unless it's Donny's social media cesspool cynically called Truth.
Murdoch created this monster, at least he could own up to it and use his media power to help fix it.
Doubtful but if he looks into the abyss, he'll see he's a villain of this awful story.
History (if there is a history) will not be kind.

(2,732 posts)Is repeating the claims on air that Zelensky is a dictator and started the war. Rupert might want to start there

(8,484 posts)And the worse they've been in the past--the more Trump and his ilk have been able to count on them--the more important their resistance is now.
These are the people who are most likely to stiffen the spines of Republican elected officials, who in turn are the people most likely to put the brakes on the worst of this administration's actions.

(61,759 posts)The time when they could made a difference has come and gone (not that the New York Post made much of a difference in any direction).
This is nothing more than low-cost ass-covering.

(40,186 posts)We all know Murdoch is evil and the Post is a rag. But anything that shows cracks in the foundation on Ukraine right now is worth noting IMO.

(3,751 posts)A lot of Republicans in Congress aren't as stupid as Trump and they can see that Trump is leading us down a road to destroy ALL of our alliances with other countries. If the US is left with no allies, even a lot of Republicans are smart enough to see that the effects of that will not end well for the US. For now, we just have a number of them being somewhat critical of Trump in brief statements. The question is if/when Trump will push things too far and trigger a more impactful response? Stay tuned.
He already has the NY Post and WSJ editorial board publicly criticizing him for his words/actions in the past week. I never thought we'd see that happen

(47,644 posts)MSNBC showed clips of Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, and others expressing strong support for Ukraine and condemning Russia's invasion.
These days, they seem to be unwilling to go against Trump and MAGA.

(3,751 posts)From this week's Quinnipiac poll. Republican politicians can see these numbers and know that even their voters strongly disagree with Trump with regards to Putin.
https://thehill.com/policy/international/5153611-quinnipiac-poll-russia-putin-trust/
Just 9% of the respondents said that Putin could be trusted, while 10% did not give an opinion.
Large majorities of both sides of the political aisle view Putin with suspicion, but with a large gap: 93% of Democratic voters believe the US should not trust Putin, while 73% of Republican voters agree.

(20,733 posts)Has he been so narcissistic and delusional for so long that he now believes he can just make up nonsense that the whole world knows is pure nonsense? The "King" decrees that the Earth is flat? Up is down?
He was never fit for public office but now he's clearly dangerous.
