His woo-woo alternative prescriptions are having the predictable results:
Most of the article is all about how Kennedys attack on the food supply and condemnation of certain industries is gaining converts among more liberal members of the public who have long criticized the food industrial complex for its contribution to the poor health of Americans. Maybe theyll succeed in getting the unhealthy processed food out of Americans diets and persuading them to stop eating sugar and industrial farming products. Im sure everyone would benefit. But Im not going to hold my breath on that.
What these people are actually going to succeed in doing is providing validation to someone who is an anti-science, conspiracy theorist crank who wants people to reject medical science in favor of woo-woo bullshit even he doesnt follow. (The man is a walking steroid bomb.) And a lot of people are going to get a whole lot sicker in the long run.
Doctors in West Texas are seeing measles patients whose illnesses have been complicated by an alternative therapy endorsed by vaccine skeptics, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary.
Parents in the region have increasingly turned to unproven treatments to protect their children, many of whom are unvaccinated, against the virus. Local doctors say they have now treated a handful of children who were given so much vitamin A which Kennedy has promoted as a near-miraculous cure for measles that they showed signs of liver damage.

(45,907 posts)1. Oh, jeez. Reposting for anyone who needs to see this:
Quite a few vitamins are NOT safe at high dosages, and that includes Vitamin A.
Hypervitaminosis A
Hypervitaminosis A is a disorder in which there is too much vitamin A in the body.
Causes
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver. Many foods contain vitamin A, including:
Meat, fish, and egg yolks
Dairy products
Some fruits and vegetables
Some dietary supplements also contain vitamin A.
Taking too many supplements is the most common cause of vitamin A toxicity. It tends not to occur just from eating vitamin A-rich foods.
Too much vitamin A can make you sick. Taking large doses during pregnancy can cause birth defects.
Acute vitamin A poisoning occurs quickly. It can happen when an adult takes several hundred thousand international units (IUs) of vitamin A.
Chronic vitamin A poisoning may occur over time in adults who regularly take more than 25,000 IUs a day.
Babies and children are more sensitive to vitamin A. They can become sick after taking smaller doses of it. Swallowing products that contain vitamin A, such as skin cream with retinol in it, can also cause vitamin A poisoning.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include:
Abnormal softening of the skull bone (in infants and children)
Blurred vision
Bone pain or swelling
Bulging of the soft spot in an infant's skull (fontanelle)
Changes in alertness or consciousness
Decreased appetite
Dizziness
Double vision (in young children)
Drowsiness
Hair changes, such as hair loss and oily hair
Headache
Irritability
Liver damage
Nausea and vomiting
Poor weight gain (in infants and children)
Skin changes, such as cracking at corners of the mouth, higher sensitivity to sunlight, oily skin, peeling, itching, and yellow color to the skin
Vision changes

(18,636 posts)2. Thank you. But if rfkjr's goal is to kill us then his messaging is correct.
- Don't get vaccinated (altho he and his family do)
- Take maga-doses of supplements (which he will hock)
