Moses Johnson stresses Congress's power over courts: 'Desperate times call for desperate measures'

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Tuesday drew attention to Congress’s power over the federal judiciary as Republicans plot how to legislatively channel their outrage over district judges who have blocked Trump administration actions.

“We do have authority over the federal courts,” Johnson said in a press conference Tuesday. “We can eliminate an entire district court. We do have power over funding over the courts and all these other things. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and Congress is going to act.”

Johnson clarified that he was not calling to eliminate courts, but rather meant to illustrate Congress’s broad scope of authority, Punchbowl News reported.

Article III of the Constitution specifically vests judicial power in the Supreme Court and in “inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” The structure of the district court system, and how they are funded, are determined by Congress.

Always has to “clarify.” Yo Mikey, do the right thing and you’ll never have a problem with the courts. Don’t do the right thing and you are the problem. Trump has already severely tarnished your chapter in the history books.

The right thing relative to the constitution. A long, long time ago a crusty old Senior Chief broke up an argument between two subordinates by loudly growling the question - “What’s the fucking book say?” Easy is as easy does.

Every last one of these pr*cks have sold their soul. They have no spines, and support a man who's d*ck they would fall on their knees to worship. They are insulated from the woes and terrors of the average citizen, and they look forward to their nightly meals of steak, caviar, and anything they want, while the rest of us hunt down the vittles. A pox on them all! They can never recover from what they have become. Mike Johnson has no excuse for his complete abdication of his humanity. He thinks he's clever, but he'll spend his eternity walking through trump's shit in the bowels of hell.

It will not be forgotten, no matter how sick he pretends to be, later when he realizes what he has done. Turtle Man is sick and retiring, but we are not forgetting the part he played. And little Mikey will make history, too, but not in the way he thinks.
