Yeah, We Must Pass The CR To Protect Social Security

Anyone remember that failed strategy?

Once again we missed a chance to take a stand.

Swallwell said this today about Chuck Schumer,
It isn’t his age, it’s his use of old 2017 strategies that don’t work in 2025.

1. I'm not sure it was such a bad decision. I got the feeling Trump wanted the shut down.

The way he was taunting us. I think he was trying to goad us into it. I’m sure he had plans to do some terrible things during a shutdown. That’s just my impression

2. Krasnov got exactly what he wanted, the CR

It gave Musk more power and neutered Congress.

Krasnov did not want a shutdown.

...a shutdown wouldn't stop Musk from what he is doing to our government, but it would have furloughed those remaining that are doing their best to limit his destruction.

Oh, and given our Republican-favoring corporate media, Democrats would have quickly been labeled at fault for it and everything that Musk is rightfully getting blame for now would instead be pinned on the Democrats.

My view is a bit different, but no less dismissive.

He hadn't thought far enough ahead as to whether a shutdown would be of use or not. I sarcastically speak of some of my students as not being "long-term thinkers, for them lunch tomorrow is a stretch for planning ... It's only Wednesday, the weekend isn't even near the edge of their radar."

I think Schumer bought us 6 months. If things continue to degrade at the rate we've seen over the past 9 weeks, then I guess we shut it down and prepare for the Great Upheaval.

The CR validated Elon. People who are happy with the CR better own up to validating Musk.

7. Schumer caved

the people were ripe for us to take a stand. WTH did Schumer do? President Musk has more power.

When will it be time for us to take a stand? What will we do 6 months from now? We had the opportunity but Schumer gave Trump exactly what he wanted and got absolutely nothing in return. Not 1 freaking Democrat negotiated the CR.

When 6 months pass I am going to hear about how we are going to have to vote them out in the mid terms and hope we have fair elections.

We missed a huge opportunity.

Trump has gotten everything he wanted since Schumer caved on the CR. 6 months from now most likely be too late to save our democracy.

Maybe people still believe that we aren't in a Constitutional crisis yet?

is this blatant take over of the government. I agree with you, that we won't exist in 6 months. People are slow to wake up, slow to act, and by the time they say, WTF, we will be at the stage where only violence will work. That's what we are headed to now. Look around, what did other countries do?

We're at the stage where massive, nonviolent civil disobedience and protest must be used. I think that Rule of Law is swell, but our society needs to flex a bit. Our Constitution was well thought out, but we are being crushed by Rule of Law. Even Due Process. That's who we are! We were great, and we were making progress even in the most egregious of our social attitudes, and now this! Eff them all!

I want to be a Democracy, or Representative Republic, without the oligarchs, without musk and trump, without the rat weasel republicans who want to make us a class system with no recourse.

Thanks, USSC! Thanks a lot, you rotten prick, Roberts!

We are not buying into the "fraud and corruption," when the fraud and corruption is clearly YOU, musk and trump.

Deliver us from evil.
