Trump administration reportedly moves to ban Jackie Robinson biography from Naval Academy library

A week after removing then restoring an article about Jackie Robinson from the Pentagon's website, the Trump administration has reportedly gone back to that well.

A biography about Jackie Robinson has been identified as a candidate for removal from the Nimitz Library at the U.S. Naval Academy due to a directive from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordering the school to identify books with diversity, equity and inclusion themes and remove them from circulation, according to The New York Times.

The Robinson biography is reportedly one of 900 books identified as conflicting with the order, with other examples including “The Autobiography of Martin Luther King Jr.” and “Einstein on Race and Racism.”

The Naval Academy's statement, via NYT:

“The U.S. Naval Academy is fully committed to executing and implementing all directives outlined in executive orders issued by the president and is currently reviewing the Nimitz Library collection to ensure compliance,” said Cmdr. Tim Hawkins, a Navy spokesman. “The Navy is carrying out these actions with utmost professionalism, efficiency, and in alignment with national security objectives.”

So much capitulation. This country is done and it’s beyond repair in my opinion. Even after he’s gone for good, these people should never be forgiven. It should never be forgotten what they have done.

Don't comply - fine, get fired or forced to resign. That will keep happening until they install their lackeys.

More disappointing are the corporations and universities that bend the knee for no reason.

They could try putting up a fight. Instead of letting doge walk into their offices, letting them access data etc., and following all orders. It seems this is a nation of cowards now.

Under the guise of understanding and reaching across the divide. There are people on this democratic forum saying that’s what we need to do to win and that’s okay. Don’t expect others to Carry the weight when we make excuses for tolerating racists.

Closing voting locations so they have to stand in long lines, incompetent white men but black people are DEI, environmental poisoning in black areas and red states keep voting the dumbest most racist politicians that hold the entire nation back. I guess black people are making up racial boogeymen.

Prosecuting racists using their power to commit murder and other crimes, and removing such racists from positions of power is necessary and labeling them as racists helps the process of reform. OTOH , labeling all Trump voters as racist, including African American voters who voted for him, weakens the power of the charge against the most serious examples and weakens the ability to use the word most effectively to create reform and change.

And they say it’s okay to hurt others but not me, when you get no benefit from a party other than to hurt others or make yourself feel more important than others. You can call it racism , sexism ,nativism or any other isms you can think of. There will always be self hating individuals who want to be with the in crowd but they do not represent the majority of black people. Donald trump is a racist and if you vote for a racist that makes you complicit. He dialed the hate to 100 and the majority of white Americans voted for him.the only place his popularity numbers are high is DEI which is code for.

People making excusing racist behavior. A certain governor and white folks consistently voting for republicans who have brought this country to its knees. It’s tiring.

...when I enlisted in the Army in the late 1970's, I was heartened about how color blind the military was compared to what I saw in civilian life. While I may have had a few political points of disagreement with Colin Powell at times, he was to me the epitome of how wonderfully color blind the military could be (and should be!) and was by any of my measures a great American. (Yes, I know the UN presentation about Iraq but I truly believe he was shamelessly used).

Trump's daddy probably was against Jackie being able to play, and told him so.

they favor "inclusion" for criminals, rapists and traitors
