absolute denial of science and ignorance again... It is so devastating for so many of us who tried our best to prevent this. I only pray we don't see polio come back in force.

I was born in 1951. When I was a kid, science was revered, as was education in general.

I'm glad I'm retired from pediatrics so I no longer have to engage in the utterly futile exercise of trying to persuade anti-vax parents that they need to re-think their choices. My former employers finally got on board with a policy of no longer accepting families who choose not to immunize. The policy is worded politely on the website, affirming their belief that vaccines are safe and effective, and that people who do not share that belief need to seek a pediatric practice that shares their preference.
