Glad you’re here!

I can’t go so far as to condemn anybody for extreme upset about how badly trump is screwing our country and trying to screw our future. All I can do is work my hardest to minimize - or try to counteract - whatever damage is being created by Republicans and their sympathizers.

I’m happy to suggest you sample the Indivisible movement. There’ll be a load of us taking part in this Saturday’s nationwide event. There might be some activity near you, and it may only demand an hour or two, or whatever you feel like doing. You might actually find some folks of like mind who are worth getting to know!

And it’ll make you feel like you’re DOING SOMETHING, no matter how small an action it might be.

“What good is political activism if all you're doing is trying to be as bad/worse than those you oppose?”

The op did not vote for an insane fascist who murdered millions. Not mourning that person wouldn’t ever make them the same or worse than fascist maga or third party non voters etc. who voted for the harm, death and destruction of Americans and democracy.

It’s called self protection and self preservation. Make an effort to understand the difference.

People are stressed and scared. We are being confronted by pure evil and it's not being stopped. Tell those people sent to El Salvador or stuck in a stinking, overcrowded American detention center with no end in sight that "hate is corrosive and I choose not to participate"

We all know hate is corrosive, but sometimes it's all we got. I hope everyday that trump drops dead!!!

That is a ridiculous statement. Damn, where to start?

First, MAGA cultists support the MAGA terrorists, for example the January 6th terrorists. We do not support any one throwing Molotov cocktails. Get the difference?

Next, no one here advocated throwing Molotov cocktails.

Then, vandalizing a car is not the same as bombing a building, ffs.

Destroying a car is not for the purpose of terrorizing any group of people. Ergo, while it is a crime, of course, it is not terrorism. Bombing a clinic is.

Then, there is the fact that these random acts of violence supposedly connected to the Left are as often as not done by right wingers and agents provocateur.

If she dies I don't know if I'll even find out, let alone whether I'll feel much. I think I've been letting her go for a while now.

We lost them before they died. A terrible by-product of the krasnov years and the decades of incessant right wing propaganda, as well as the intractable racism and bigotry of most if not all magats.

My problem is that I will find out (and I fully expect him to preceded me in death, given his unhealthy lifestyle)

When his son calls to tell me the bad news, I'm going to have to decide whether or not to tell him the truth

"I'm sorry, but your dad and I have not been friends for a long time"

I'm sure that's not the way to handle it but I don't know what is the right way

I'm certainly not traveling across the country for the funeral of someone who voted to strip my mom of her safety net because he thought presidents control the price of eggs

But those of us who are Democrats and on the Left seem to have a history of being self-righteous about our beliefs, convinced it makes us better than those on the other side. But we have not been vigilant in protecting the rights of our nation being convinced that the maga crowd were just a bunch of ignorants in the Trump culture of personality. Meanwhile while we were convinced they were just a bunch of stolen election morons they have been planning the take-down of the nation we love.
Oh that we had not been complacent about our democracy's future and self confident that we would prevail.
How art the mighty fallen and our sin was one of national pride being convinced that the loss of our democracy could never happen here but only in those lesser nations of the world. But no matter what happens in the future, America will never be the same again.

These people have no compassion, no empathy, and certainly no understanding of our side, and they don't expend any energy trying to understand our points of view. So, I don't think that we have the luxury of "going high" any longer. If we do that, we've already seen what happens. We get pummeled and bull dozed.

You've done nothing wrong. You didn't WISH this person to die. You didn't do anything to cause their passing. Your emotions are justified, and you're just expressing honest feelings.

He had almost no one he had driven everyone away with his hate, when we went to clean out the house he had a flag on the front of the house that said Fu#k Joe Biden and you for voting for him.

He was always a right winger and alcoholic but really went off the rails when trump came in on the first term. He just became a drunken bundle of rage.

When we got the news he died I just said to my wife Oh well. Her sister his partner had died 10 years previously, lung cancer she was also an alcoholic and 3 pack a day smoker. The two of them fought constantly.

I have cut a few "friends" over the years finding who they truly are.
