Why was the constitution amended in 1951

To prevent a President from serving more than two terms? Could it be because republicans were tired of FDR kicking their ass X four. By golly we will unlevel the playing field. We’ll strive to make it fair by way of an amendment. Who was the first President prevented from running for a third term? Eisenhower? A Republican. Who is threatening to upend the Constitution to run for a third term? A Republican.

There is no reason to tell republicans to go fuck themselves. That, they have figured out all on their own.

The GOP may be dead for several decades after TSF gets done.

Since its passing, it has hurt Democrats more than Republicans. Clinton would have easily won a third term in 2000, as would Obama in 2016.

Bush would not have won again in 2008, and would have lost even worse than McCain. Sure, Reagan would have easily won again in 1988, but so what? We got Bush Sr. anyway, another Republican.
