I'm so sick of these articles. If the White House wants us to have more babies, it can provide universal healthcare, universal pre-K, maternity and paternity leave, and do something so that the cost of college is not exorbitant, because you need a BA to be a secretary these days. Instead, it's slashing jobs, erasing women from military history, taking aim at colleges, and basically saying "yeah, no", to things like decent childcare and maternity leave, because women should stay home with their children and anyone with a pulse should have a post-menopausal grandma just ready to come out of the woodwork and babysit from here to eternity.
It's also gotten rid of Roe v. Wade and is making it harder to obtain prenatal care and birth control in some places; basically, if you're poor and don't have insurance and can't travel a dozen hours to the only Planned Parenthood in your rural state, you're out of luck. And it's always, always, about what women aren't doing or should be doing.
You don't hear the GOP advocating for men to be more upstanding or responsible or emphasizing the importance of fatherhood to communities and families, and why would they? They support a thrice-married convicted felon who never changed his five kids' diapers and cheated on Melania with a porn star while she was pregnant. They don't value families, they value control, and I'm sick of hearing their pompous take on how we should live our lives when they are making it so very hard for us to do so.

The angry town halls reveal the rapid aging of the white population and a politics of existential crisis over the growing populations of Black and brown people.
Trumpism seeks to use the fear to lock in privileges of white supremacy. It plays into the anti-DEI backlash. But the America's transformation to a racially pluralistic society is irreversible.
Since 2019, according to the Brookings Institution, white youths have comprised less than half of the population under the age of 15. The 2020 Census accounted for about 192 million people self-identified as white alone - about 58 percent of the national population - with a startling common age of 58 years, according to the PEW Research Center.
By contrast, the studies revealed minority populations ranging in age from 11 years for Hispanics to 27 for Blacks to 29 for Asians.
The Census discovered a white population decline of about 3 percent about 5 million or so between 2010 and 2020. The reason was the mortality of the Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomers.
As the writer notes young white families are smaller due to priorities such as wealth preservation and careers. The decline, in tandem with a growing gay cohort, is why MAGA seeks to squash women's rights, abortion, and LGBTQ culture.
The press ignores the issue - for more information see "Angry Town Halls Reveal The Aging Of White America" in the Black Star News.

They Want More Babies. Now They Have Friends in the White House.
Advocates of higher birthrates have support in the Trump administration. But its unclear whether their priorities will win out.

(2,372 posts)1. These wealthy people want new generations. . .
of wage slaves, cheap labor. They are just thinking of themselves, not those who will have to toil barely getting by.
