The White House insists the Signalgate is over?
Not so fast! Especially when they keep bringing up Hillarys emails!

(10,410 posts)They are still bringing it up as recently as this week. Same with Hunter Biden.
There is one solid truth today - if you are a Republican voter, you are a liar about the reasons why.
You vote that way because you LIKE or LOVE this shit and believe it won't blowback on you, ever.
What we need is more significant blowback and bankrupcties of GOP fools...but by then it may be too late.

Oops. He was gone less than 6 months after that.

(15 posts)they only got caught using Signal for the action against then Houthi's?
what other "classified" chats did they have in Signal? we have to know what other classified info the trump admin. is leaking.
They need to do a deep forensic analysis of signal to see if they are compromised by bad actors and what other high levle/classified discussion that took place that could have been intercepted.

(160,892 posts)There are plenty of lingering questions about the "Signalgate" fiasco. Donald Trump and his team are apparently no longer interested in getting answers.

Forget it: Seven days later, the White House announced that "the case has been closed."

A week later, plenty of lingering questions remain, though officials in the West Wing no longer appear especially eager to answer them. NBC News reported:
Asked about the status of the investigation into how a journalist was added to a high-level group chat about U.S. military plans in Yemen, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt indicated that the president was moving on. Mike Waltz continues to be an important part of his national security team, and this case has been closed here at the White House, Leavitt told reporters, adding that steps had been taken to ensure the situation is not repeated.
She did not appear to be kidding.

.......In her comments to reporters, Leavitt went on to say, There have been steps made to ensure that something like that can obviously never happen. Again, the press secretarys use of passive voice stood out: She said there have been steps made, instead of saying who took the steps and what those steps entailed.
Whats more, the White House has not yet offered the public any information on what, if anything, the administrations internal review uncovered.
What were left with is an unsettling image in which Trump fires no one as a result of this fiasco, the Justice Department ignores the alleged crimes associated with this scandal, and the White House offers assurances without any details.
In theory, this would be about the time that Congress exercises its oversight authority. In practice, Republicans control Capitol Hill, and the odds of a meaningful investigation in the House or Senate effectively do not exist.
