(91,396 posts)This is a sad and frightening place we are in right now and frankly, I don't know how we are going to survive this.

(232,470 posts)It's beyond me what they all would think now, they all found opportunities here that were denied to them at home. My cousin is actually thinking of seeking asylum back in Ireland to give her 2 young girls more freedoms that they would now find here.

(232,470 posts)And I'm one generation too late to consider it myself. And I always felt extremely fortunate to have been born here, thanks to my ancestors. My paternal grandmother's ancestors were Dutch and settled here in the mid 1600s and their descendants fought in the American Revolution. What would they think now?? Love ya back...
