I like Zohran Mamdani

and I like how he is inspiring young voters. I smiled when my yougest daughter, 26, as me when the early voting for our primary was a few weeks ago. I immediately knew she was asking because she had been following the excitement around Zohran. But I told her we are not in the city so we don't vote for their mayor. There was actually nothing for us to vote for in our primary because the only race on our ballot was a Republican primary for Town Justice.

I read up on Zohran's parents and I think they are pretty terrific too. Intelligent, kind, compassionate.

What I don't like is that some of his supporters are using him as a means to attack the Democratic Party and Democrats. That's a turnoff. I want Mamdani to win the general election, but if some Democratic voters are turned off by these divisive attacks, it will make it harder for him.

I think Mamdani even supports trans rights so far from a fundamentalist.

Democratic socialism is okay but I'm suspicious of a new poster using the similar 2 words the right used to describe Obama. The right accused Obama of wanting to install a Muslim/Marxist/Socialist government but they were so out of touch with reality which I think the poster you replied to also lost touch with reality.

Muslims come in many varieties. Sure, there are Muslim fundamentalists. There are also very secular Muslims. You shouldn't paint any -- ANY -- religion with so broad a brush!
