Anyone still quibbling that this isn't fascism?

The White House has ordered the US Dept. of Justice to prioritize denaturalization: voiding the citizenship of US citizens.
Who will it denaturalize? "Any" case that it "determines to be sufficiently important".
Point 10 leaves the criteria opaque and arbitrary.

(6,508 posts)It took the media about 3 years to start using "lies" to refer to Trump's prevarication. Perhaps they will learn to embrace "fascist" before it is too fucking late.
They also need to recognize that many in MAGA are fine with Trump fascism and even advocate for it.

Its important to remember that guys like Homan, Miller, etc, do not view immigrants as people. So, if they die they die. Thing is, once the concentration camps get filled with the easy-to-kidnap people from car washes and Home Depot, that tier of people the admin doesnt see as people will expand.

Tom Homan straight-up thinks its fine for people to die in ICE prisons.
Reporter: There are reports of a 75 year old Cuban national who died in ICE custody. He had lived in the US for 60 years.
Homan: Im unaware of that. People die in ICE custody. People die in jails and state prisons The question should be how many lives does ICE save because when they go into detention, we find many with diseases and stuff we deal with right away to prevent that

(19,225 posts)Discrimination
Currently, the most significant cause of statelessness is discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, language and/or gender.

Loss and deprivation of nationality
Some states deprive citizens of nationality if they live overseas for a certain number of years. States can also deprive citizens of their nationality under discriminatory laws, and increasingly under anti-terrorism laws, which may render someone stateless.

Trump and his GESTAPO WILL detain, arrest, kidnap, abduct, deport or disappear ANYONE they see fit.
Citizen, not citizen, immigrant, US born... no matter, no problem.

(7,607 posts)and the display of "bending the knee" by the assembled tech oligarchs many of us here began warning about how severe things were going to change and how quickly. I can remember being told we were being irresponsible and "just scaring people". Then came the ICE-American Gestapo crackdowns and grabbing people off the streets. Along with all of the other horrors in the last 5+ months.
We encouraged people from vulnerable groups to consider their own safety and that of their loved ones and to have a plan for "getting out" and living outside the US for awhile if they could. Again we were told that the courts would stop any such problems and that we were just needlessly "scaring people" or encouraging them to run rather than fight. We knew the targeting of the people from those groups would come and be extreme.
Many of us tried to get people to look at the lesson of history and how some Europeans waited too long and then couldn't readily leave and move about even if they wanted to. So now comes the "prioritizing" of stripping US citizenship and deporting literally anybody they choose. We kept warning people that their time to prepare and make a move was not growing longer but was in fact rapidly closing.
So now for some time when you leave the country and return your political views of the Administration and the GQP/MAGA scum are screened by US personnel in uniform with guns on their hips and they want to see what you've been saying, reading and things you have approved of.
Wake up anybody who doubts this will get much, much worse. Where do they think they are? This is the United States in name and memory only. The fascists are here and in control. Do people think the judges will save us now? Do people think they won't go after the citizenship of judges they deem to be a "problem"?
