Musk has a lot of government contracts, and stands to lose billions if Trump were to cancel them and deport him.
The problem is that Musk has burrowed deep into our government, and it would be very difficult to just do that.
He's in a position of strength thanks to DOGE and his computer team. I shudder to think of what he could do if Trump decided to throw him out.

As long as Musk doesn't overplay his hand, he'll be around and able to influence the direction of government.
