The hourly rates paid for by taxpayers to staff the Everglades detention camp are more than what we pay teachers in Florida. Just horrible priorities as usual from our state government.

If youre wondering how much public money the state is spending to staff this immigrant detention center in the middle of the Everglades, look no further as we have the contract for CRS (Critical Response Strategy). They are the ones managing the facility.

(60,432 posts)If so, raising the cost of the facility might give the state more of the huge ICE money just included in the bill ... at the expense of almost any safety net spending that should have been included.

(60,432 posts)My supposition was that the more it cost FL to create and maintain, the more they would pay. FL could be seen to have taken on the role of owning a "private prison".

Not to mention, reimbursed for the out of pocket money they spend on classroom supplies, etc.
