Head of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue branch resigns.

Head of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue branch resigns.
He told colleagues that TX delay was tipping point after months of admin efforts to dismantle the agency. DHS Sec Noem took 72 hours after TX flooding to authorize the deployment of FEMA’s search and rescue network

Was he surprised that the party of "Government is not the solution, government is the problem" actually wasn't the solution?

He has been in that position for a year.

He is one of those feds who tried to stay in his position to make it work. But Texas was all he needed to see to know the system has been hopelessly undermined.

The teams still exist (I am on one) but not being called up is heartbreaking for them when people are in danger. The system is designed to be wheels up in 6 hours. Waiting 72 hours while victims are trapped is a death sentence for most of them.

Unfortunately I guess you can't speak up and stay in your job. Which means either things get covered up, or the best people leave.
