I'm about 36 hours away from leaving America and it's been a rough week. Today, I finally spoke up to a MAGA.

We were having lunch in an Arby's and talking about that guy who moved his family to Russia to escape the "woke". A strange man was walking by and overheard our conversation and decided to comment. He declared, "Yeah, I get it. I moved from New York (to blue state, Illinois?) because it was too woke."
I shot back, "Well, I'm moving out of the country because I'd rather be woke than support fascism."

Wish I'd told him he was in the wrong state and needs to try Oklahoma.

I've been so stressed, sad, scared, and angry this week, I keep telling my son I just hope to get on the plane Friday before I kill one of my fellow Americans!

And thank you for speaking up. It's going to take all of us to "unbite" our tongues and speak out. May your journey to your next home be safe and magat free

Close to the sea and the climate in the mountains inland is supposed to be great.

The American mid-west (Ohio, etc.) is going to be a real melting pot - or dust bowl. The temp swings will get worse as the climate changes. Of course with this regime we won't be told about this.

But, if those aren't issues for someone, more power to them I say.

If I had the means, I could come up with places I'd enjoy much more. But, alas, it's the "dustbowl" for me.

We moved to BC in 2012 and haven’t regretted a single day.

And more importantly how were you able to reside in BC. We've been to several towns/areas in BC and love it. We live in Oregon, at the moment a safe, blue state -- but are thinking about options in the event we feel the need to escape or leave.

Have you read "A Curve In Time". One of the most haunting books I've ever read. Recommended by a priest in a bookstore in Nanaimo when I was there the first time.
