BEATRICE — Matt Bogle played macho for decades, going from a small-town upbringing in Fairbury to street life in Kansas City. Then to rappelling out of helicopters in the Army, fighting for gun rights in California, riding motorcycles across the open highway and settling down with a wife.

Bogle said the ink meant different things at different times.
