Could one of trump's children be involved?

(110,810 posts)turn it over at a massive profit to some Saudi (? or other oligarch). Well, it appears that Epstein bought it out from under him.

Epstein was eyeing a property in Florida and took tRump to see it. tRump swooped in and bought it before Epstein could. Then a year or two later he sold it for more than double to a Russian oligarch: $45M sold for $95M or something similar. Money laundering, undoubtedly.
Epstein was pissed and the relationship went south. Then, the rumour is, tRump turned Epstein over to police, he was charged, and Pam Blondi, then AG of Floriduh, gave him a sweetheart deal. {I was in error.}

(6,277 posts)The original Epstein case was started when the mother of one of his victims contacted Palm Beach Police in 2005. Palm Beach Police then began a 13-month undercover investigation of Epstein, including a search of his home. During the investigation, Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter publicly accused the Palm Beach County state prosecutor, Barry Krischer, of being too lenient and called for help from the FBI.
In May 2006, Palm Beach police filed a probable cause affidavit saying that Epstein should be charged with four counts of unlawful sex with minors and one count of sexual abuse. On July 27, 2006, Epstein was arrested by the Palm Beach Police Department on state felony charges of procuring a minor for prostitution and solicitation of a prostitute. State prosecutor Krischer later convened a Palm Beach County grand jury, which was usually only done in capital cases. Presented evidence from only two victims, the grand jury returned a single charge of felony solicitation of prostitution. In July 2006, the FBI began its own investigation of Epstein, nicknamed "Operation Leap Year". It resulted in 53 page indictment in June 2007. Alexander Acosta, then the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, agreed to a plea deal, which Alan Dershowitz helped to negotiate to grant immunity from all federal criminal charges to Epstein, along with four named co-conspirators and any unnamed "potential co-conspirators". According to the Miami Herald, the non-prosecution agreement "essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epstein's sex crimes". At the time, this halted the investigation and sealed the indictment. The Miami Herald said: "Acosta agreed, despite a federal law to the contrary, that the deal would be kept from the victims."
During this whole time, Bondi was an assistant state attorney in Florida and had absolutely no role in the Epstein case. She was Florida AG from 2011 thru 2019.

(110,810 posts)Epstein was likely to prevail in the future on those things Trump thought "were rightfully his."
What a POS... (both of them, obviously, but I would seriously doubt that Trump never engaged in sex with a minor either, and I think there may be proof or at least accounts described in those DOJ documents).

(114,447 posts)The more likely story is that they were competing with bids to buy a Russian property in Palm Beach and Trump out-bid him. It is very possible they were both laundering money for the Russians around this time frame?

(12,059 posts)Epstein was interested in a property and consulted Trump over anticipated renovations. Then Trump swooped in, undercut the proposed deal and bought the property for himself.
Because that's what friends do.

(36,892 posts)He asked his friend Trump for advice, and Trump immediately bought the property. And later he sold it for $96 million to a Russian oligarch for twice its value.

(11,014 posts)confirmed this morning that it was widely known their falling out was over a major Florida real estate deal. She's been a Miami resident for years, and apparently this was widely known at the time. She offered no details of the deal itself; rather she presented it to indicate there were no other circumstances.

Almost always it is a series of grievances and anger that lead to the break up.
