Trump Supporters Report Having Higher Levels of Psychopathy, Manipulativeness, Callousness, and NarcissismA study found that Trump supporters report enjoying the pain of others, lacking empathy and having higher levels of psychopathy, manipulativeness, callousness, and narcissism.
The Journal of Research in Personality reported that psychopathic traits and malevolent disposition predicted an increase in conservative political ideology, whereas a benevolent disposition predicted decreased conservative ideology, which is to sway more liberal ideology.
Conservative ideology was represented by symbolic and operational ideology and positive view of Trump.
The study found psychopathic traits and malevolent disposition predicted increased conservative political ideology, whereas Benevolent disposition predicted decreased conservative ideology--i.e., more liberal ideology.
It was really quite simple and rather discouraging: Those viewing Trump favorably reported elevated malevolent and reduced benevolent dispositions, and less empathy.

(11,739 posts)For many years, my description of a typical "conservative" has been: A narrow-minded, short-sighted, self-centered, mean-spirited, callous, reactionary bigot.
Major assholes.

And as a librul, I'm proud to eat avacado toast and go to Starbucks (or other mom and pop type coffee shops)!

(50,668 posts)then they would just have to find another group to hate, which they would do rather quickly. They really don't hate one particular thing about liberals or women or minorities or LGBT people, they just have an innate desire to hate someone so they look for reasons.
Perhaps if they were more secure, they wouldn't have this need to blame others for their problems, though I think in many cases, hating has just become a habit, a way of life. It seems to feed them.

(23,315 posts)retreat, (a type of spirituality). We both spent $1,000 for the retreat and rented an Air B and B. It was only Fri. night Sat and Sunday morning. Apparently she was mad at me for me commenting on her weight, (I realise it was not right). Anyway, Sunday came and I woke up about 10:30 and she was gone. The retreat started about 9am.
When I spoke to her she said she "Tried to wake me but I wouldn't wake up" Total bullshit! And that morning cost $250. Plus she left the rental early and went somewhere, (I don't know)
I know she did it on purpose. She is passive aggressive and was mad at me for the things I said. And I wasn't really mean. I was concerned.
She is a Trump supporter. And she has a real hateful side. But of course both her and her husband are "Christians".
I need her in my life like I need another hole in my head.
I don't remember doing anything specific to hurt someone. That doesn't mean I have not hurt people, it means I have not set out to do that. She isn't like that.
