tRumpy is a lifetime serial liar. You'd think he'd be good at it by now...
But there's just this one little problem: The lies have to make him look good... to himself.
And they have to fit with the image he's tried to maintain his entire life.
So, he says: "I was invited to the island, but I never went. Lots of other people from Palm Beach were invited too."
That's not just him trying to send people off in a different direction, although of course he wouldn't mind.
That's him making sure everyone knows that he is NEVER not invited somewhere that other "high society" (in his mind) people are invited.
The simplest and best lie would be to say "I was never invited.". Best, because it would then seem as though his buddy Epstein, who knew him so well, would not invite him to a place where things like that were happening because he would know tRump would be shocked (and might turn him in).
That's what an innocent person's story would be. Because an innocent person would not have even been invited there. You seriously don't think Epstein would not carefully screen each potential "client" or even "friend" to make sure they would be ok with underage girls being sexually exploited? Absurd on the face of it.
So, if he were a good liar (or a truth teller) that's what he would say.
But he wants, no, NEEDS to have his cake and eat it too. He can't possibly say "I was never invited" because then it would, in HIS eyes, make him look bad. So he says the only thing left: "I was invited, but I didn't go."
So. If we're to believe that, we must believe that Epstein seriously misjudged his character when he invited him to the island...
After palling around with him for years.
