I read this story in my youth. Today it has remined me of the Star Trek Next Generation story "The Inner Light"

Clarke had a much more interesting life than I might have imagined. A good person.

I loved Clark because he always asked me to stretch my brain a bit and see the world in a slightly different version.

Other favorites were his off bear "White Hart" sto4ies.

But his White Hart tales are a real treat! I especially love "Critical Mass" and "What Goes Up."

The Inner Light is also a story of a civilization condemned to die, that knew what was coming. So they reached out to tell someone of their life. It was such a hauntingly beautiful, sad story. They wrote music for the episode, that was also sad.
