I'm almost surprised that none of them are carrying pitchforks and torches.
It's really a credit to them and those State and City leaders that told them that they need to protest peacefully.

(18,739 posts)Look, I'm not saying I have an answer, there probably isn't one. There almost certainly isn't an answer which is both palatable and possible.
But peaceful protests don't do shit when you are dealing with psychos. Which we are.

(26,411 posts)I'm hoping that the woman that was murdered by ICE becomes the rallying around point person that will ultimately bring down Tr**p, ICE and his criminal minions.

(21,579 posts)And you're not cowering thinking nothing can be done. Sorry, but I don't like defeatist attitudes. Only one's thing for certain with that attitude. You WILL be defeated.

(42,510 posts)everybody knows the psychos could care less and are oblivious.
The protests are for other targets and reasons. Among them:
a) show other citizens in Minnesota and the nation that there are people of conscience who are saying this is not OK; that ICE egregiously crossed the boundary.
b) show other countries that Americans vehemently object to trump policies. For this, I, a citizen of NJ, am very grateful.
c) to express their Constitutional right to speech.
d) to express feelings of justifiable outrage.
e) gain the support of other citizens and get more people to join
These are just a few.
Your comment trivializes what these citizens have done.
Furthermore, your comment suggests that you think people should do nothing because protests don't affect psychos. What do you recommend people do?
If there are no protests, then what a bonanza for trump and ICE. Do you think that's right?

(79,492 posts)There is currently an enormous protest in the streets of Minneapolis in response to the murder there today by the American Gestapo, ICE. I take some comfort in this.
