Apparently it was really cold in Minneapolis today yet thousands came out to protest:

Minneapolis won’t be intimidated by Trump’s secret police force. #ICEOutForGood

In Minneapolis this afternoon (Saturday, January 10, 2026), temperatures are expected to be around 20–23°F (-7°C to -5°C), with a high of approximately 23°F. The "feels like" temperature will be significantly colder, around 6–8°F due to wind chill.

It was raining and wet at my protest… my hands were so cold I couldn’t get photos but I kept thinking of the sacrifices that so many have made for the good of all…. The least I could do was be cold for a few hours protesting to help bring about positive change…. Thanks to all who got out there today

We know how to dress for it. I was wearing wool socks, insulated boots with ice cleats, ski pants, a couple of layers of sweaters, a wool cap, gloves and a down parka, and I was fine, except that I couldn't take pictures very easily. The bigger problem was that it had been above freezing for a couple of days with a lot of snow melt and then it froze so the streets and sidewalks were extremely slippery. We can deal with this kind of ice; it's the other kind that's a problem. People were wound up - the mood wasn't cheerful like the recent No Kings rally with the frog costumes and funny signs (though there were a fair number of those); it was determined and defiant, many F-bombs were dropped. Anybody who thinks these protests don't mean anything and not enough people care wasn't anywhere near Minneapolis today. We were on fire, melting ICE.

We could actually use mother nature's assistance to provide a good, old fashioned Polar Vortex for those ICE and Border Patrol agents. Lets see how they function with a windchill of -60 for a couple of weeks.

It can get cold enough to freeze your eyelashes together. I don't care. Bundle up and get out there, regardless.
