5. Yes, I have seen videos of the real life in the Philippines

that are current. Tony Bourdain went there a lot and I have many family members and friends who are Filipino and have lived and worked in the US for several generations, mostly they are in the health care and education fields. I personally have the most sincere respect and admiration for the students of the immigrants I taught in elementary school for almost 20 years. I still go shopping at local Filipino supermarkets in San Diego since they have influenced me in so many ways. I even like balute (chicken embryos still in the egg after 18 days).

Their political leadership has been a disaster for as long as I can remember. There are many views and opinions. That is probably why I find their political views are a contrast to the other aspects of their day to day lives both in the US and in the Philippines. A fellow teacher was from there and her father, who was a judge, was murdered for his political views. This is not uncommon I have learned.
