or perhaps you--beyond DU.. But, I share your emotion reading that.

My own father and three uncles were all WWII veterans, though all survived. This touches me intensely and only increases my overwhelming love for FDR.

fought to preserve our freedom having their sacrifices be trampled by the current fascists while half the country applauds.
