Actor Timothy Busfield turned himself in to police in New Mexico on Tuesday, four days after an arrest warrant was issued alleging the 68-year-old Emmy-winning actor and director abused 11-year-old twin boys on a film set.
An arrest warrant was issued on Friday for Busfield, who is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse.
Larry Stein, Busfield's attorney, told NBC News that his client turned himself in "to clear his name and reputation."
"He didnt do anything wrong. These accusations are false," Stein said, adding that Busfield would not be offered bail.

(27,986 posts)I NEVER LIKED HIM. I first saw him on thirtysomething and although all of those characters were insipid in their own ways, and caricatures of real humans, he gave me the creeps somehow. My then-girlfriend had the hots for him and for the lead character, and I told her that thats why some women get themselves into trouble and ignore normal guys (and yes, men do equally horrendous things) and then wonder what all went wrong.

(27,986 posts)I thought that he was one of West Wings lesser characters. And again, creepy.

(5,692 posts)My husband and I were talking about the West Wing last week (precipitated by a visit from one of my summer interns whose last name is Cregg) and i told him I couldn't stand the actor who played Danny, in anything he performed in. Just gave me a bad feeling. Guess I was right (even though I know and accusation is just that.)
But going missing isn't a good look

(63,867 posts)Learn to discern between imagination and reality with the gut feeling. It takes practice. Personally, I believe this type of intuition is a gift from God for women.
I went with a friend to his house for lunch one day. We were both about 20 years old. His father showed up for lunch as well and we met for the first time. I greeted him with a handshake and smile, and then I got the creepiest feeling, like he was seeing me naked. Maybe he looked at me a tenth of a second too long. Or he didn't release the handshake soon enough. Anyway, I avoided being alone with him. Thirty-five years later I heard gross stories about him making passes at his wife's married friends. And another story that he molested his toddler grandchild while they were in the pool. I believe he died in prison, transferred to another state, after another molestation felony.
Busfield never made an impression on me, except to say I never sought him out in other shows and movies. I simply felt nothing for him. Zero attraction, which for that time in my life, was unusual.

(142 posts)It seemed to happen a lot in 80s movies. Busfield was in Stripes too.

(14,851 posts)Didn't make much of an impression. Mostly played side characters. He needs to turn himself in. He's only making it worse.

I would love to believe he is innocent of these charges (mainly for Gilbert's sake) but... Damn.

It's been a while since I watched it.
The kid & his mom are both great.

(75,876 posts)Rookie Of The Year is a little sillier, and that lack of taking itself seriously makes it a bit more fun.

(17,085 posts)I'm withholding judgment on this one until I learn more of the facts. I saw a story about a week ago and the explanation of the alleged incidents just didn't add up to me. I felt it might be a case of someone trying to get a payout.
By no means do I minimize these charges. If they are true, then to hell with the asshole. But I still believe in innocent until proven guilty. So, I'm anxious to see how the story unfolds.

(980 posts)One's impressions of an actor whether physical attraction or mental are based on their acting skills in any given role that they play. Who they are in real life is another story.
Please let's stop. . . .
