A thought... what if the "new" detention centers all over the country being aquired are for...

the people the regime has been putting on "a list". The people he thinks are enemies.

I have read that the regime is petitioning tech companies for people's email, names, address etc. if they posted anything against immigration enforcement.

I don't think all those buildings are for immigrants, he hates anyone against him.

A "domestic terrorist" will be anyone who criticizes, votes against, or shows insufficient enthusiasm for the regime.

You don't spend billions building a secret police force and dozens of mass detention camps for a "one-off" purpose.

Like many institutions, ICE will experience "mission creep", transforming itself to suit the little dictator's Whim 'O the Day.

No reason to wait for one "enemy" to be eliminated before adding others.
Fascists often have multiple enemies at once.

We can't just wait and hope. Trump needs autocracy to stay out of jail. He has a personality disorder that cannot help but escalate and is incapable of compassion or reason.

But he wasn't ready for Minnesota. We all have to be Minnesota. We all have to be ready to step up.
It will depend on what the people, military, police, and courts do.
And whether we can win over the handful of Republicans we need at every level, because Trump can't do this by himself.

101. A Modern Military Fully Turned Against a Population

CAN get as many of us that would be able to neutralize any organized opposition. It is hard to conceive that an overwhelming proportion of the military would go along willingly but even medieval armies were not stopped by ad hoc attacks by civilians.

The U.S. has a large well armed militant stripe of civilians hostile to its government and social regulation. I quote the journalist E.R. Shipp writing about militias around the time of McVeigh "We underestimate them at our own peril." I'm not saying they are an existential threat or could do overwhelming damage but even a disorganized flameout could take more lives and disrupt things more seriously and longer than any of us would be able to easily dismiss.

108. Too Many of Us
Mon Feb 16, 2026, 08:24 PM
Feb 16

And thanks to the second amendment, so many are armed. Plus this country is so geographically diverse and too big to subdue en masse. As soon as we notice hundreds of protesting citizens are being rounded up by goons as "domestic terrorists" and put into camps, others will begin to resist and many will choose to die on their feet fighting them rather than be slaughtered like cattle in the camps. They can't kill us all and they don't have the numbers or the sustained fascist ideology to outlast a protracted modern civil war fought for freedom guerilla style in urban and rural settings using low-tech weapons like drones and other improvised tools used to fight them. And during such a conflict, some democratic allies of the US may not sit idly by and not support the resistance. Plus the authoritarian regime may be attacked by other outside adversaries at their greatest time of weakness. And such a conflict will have ruinous effects on economies, both at home and abroad. Is this scenario perhaps too hyperbolic? Maybe, but if this scenario is too bad for business, it may not happen because the wealthy might not profit from it and they may seek to preserve markets by taking steps to avoid such a revolutionary conflict before it starts. And their money that first fueled Trumpistan will instead be spent to depose him.

Just because there aren’t gas chambers and ovens (although we don’t actually know if there are or aren’t) doesn’t mean they aren’t concentration camps.

Someone else provided a definition. What is your definition of a concentration camp? How is that different from what these mass incarceration sites appear to be?

but history hasn't played out on this. So far there is a measles and a tuberculosis outbreak in at least 2 of the camps. Trump is not yet dictator but he is trying to be. Nothing is proceeding as he originally promised (removing only the worst of the worst criminals).

When you remove protections and oversight, abuse happens. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
We need to have our eyes open.

According to Merriam-Webster, these are cocentration camps.
No Hitler or gas ovens required. But let's not kid ourselves, enough people will die that we won't be making these distinctions in the future. If we prevail to tell the story.

seems short-sighted (at best) to dismiss them as simply immigrant detainment centers. But, the people who instruct us they alone live a reality-based world also tell me that's all they'll be used for.

I live in Pennsylvania, a stand your ground state, and am heavily armed - multiple shotguns, multiple pistols and a high-powered Browning 308 rifle. If those bastards ever try to break into my house without a judicial warrant it will be the last house that those particular criminal goons ever try to break into. I will fight them to the death before I ever end up in one of their fucking concentration camps.

Also, for the record, I am a law-abiding US citizen who has never been charged with a crime and I have a concealed carry permit. Since I obey the law, no legitimate judge would ever have a reason to issue a warrant for my arrest. We have a constitutional right to protect our property and our persons and I will exercise that right to the fullest extent under the law.

If these fascists think that it is only their side who are heavily armed they are fucking stupid. They will learn that lessen if they go into Philly and pull the same shit that they pulled in Minneapolis.

Depending on how bad things get here in Pennsylvania, I will be buying an AR-15 to add to my arsenal.

That’s why I am thankful for those who can and make those decisions understanding that killing monsters does not magically turn you into a monster. Everyone has means and choices when it comes to defending you and yours and all. Some people may have to kill to save themselves someone else or the community.

Death is not the cruelest ,torture is and torture is always wrong.

But that's just the basic playbook of authoritarianism.

However, the purchasing of actual real estate to do the housing is starting to hit far too close to home.

Round up the opposition and incarcerate them.

While the Holocaust rightly gets a lot of ink/pixels as one of the most heinous acts in human history, some of the first residents of the camps were journalists and opposition leaders, including politicians. Not death camps, of course, that came later. But the first concentration camps were for opposition leaders.

I would say that all of trump immigrant warehouses are full of political prisoners. Its all about political theater for MAGAts, and what he promised them in his campaigning.

I have no doubt the situation could devolve into Democrats being political prisoners, especially for those who are already on his Enemies List. Think of the people he's already tried to prosecute.

Anyone who says, it can't happen here, is not paying attention. We have never, even remotely, been close to where we are now.

we should label them as such. You are on the right track and we need to stop calling them "detention centers/facilities". That label cleans them up too much beyond what they are. They are concentration camps to hold people indefinitely. Some have been held for many months and then shifted to other camps.
