I was doing a radio show on a boxing match years ago, with two associates who know the sport. In between rounds six and seven, they said one guy looked to be pulling ahead and was on his way to victory. I said I disagreed, and anticipated he would get knocked out in round eight. He did. The two asked me how I had known? I said I could see it in his legs even though he had been getting off good punches, his legs were getting weak.
The U.S. Supreme Court decision was an example of a blow that made the felon's legs wobble. While many watched the anal pore located below his nose as the felon engaged in an enraged tantrum before the press, I was seeing the legs of the administration quiver. Those legs have been looking shaky in recent weeks.
We are approaching the point where we knock the fucking legs off, and the administration tumbles down and is counted out. We know the felon is not going to honor the USSC's decision. He simply cannot, as it is not in his sociopathic nature to do so. His approval ratings were already dropping, due to everything from the economy to the Epstein Pedo Files scandal.
The legs that allow the felon & fiends to stand upright at this time are the republicans in the House and Senate. They are trapped. Double-trapped, as Malcolm would say. They were already aware that they face significant loses in the mid-terms that are potentially larger than after Nixon resigned. Puppets like Marjorie Taylor Greene were not only talking back to the puppeteer, they were jumping ship. What options do they have today? Agree that the felon can violate a Supreme Court decision? Or refuse to ignore his criminal behaviors?
Let us hope they have the wisdom to make the right choice. Either way, they lose. And we knock those fucking legs off of maga.

(26,260 posts)to feeling a smile cross my face as I read your post, H2O Man!

I've been thinking a lot about the Champ in recent days, including talking with a lot of old, retired boxers about Ali's relationship with Malcolm X. I am still amazed that anyone would consider fighting Sonny Liston with their hands at their sides. Liston was scarier than the young George Foreman or Mike Tyson.
Now, if that wasn't a David and Goliath of modern times, Ali dared tell Uncle Sam he was wrong. That was unpopular among some, and encouraging to the anti-war movement. Ali combined civil rights with anti-war on constitutional grounds, and won an 8 - 0 decision over Sam in the Supreme Court.
Thank you!

(3,940 posts)I'm not as afraid of this administration as I was a few weeks ago.
Watching Mary Trump right now describing him as you have above, unable to pivot or reframe or come up with plan B. All he has is bluster and I think the USSC really floored him. All he can do now is scream into the void. He's so fucked in the head he really thinks everything is completely transactional and the USSC failed to honor him as he felt he was entitled for them to do.
Kudos to the wonderful Neal Katyal.
He's physically deteriorating, psychologically unable to cope with any defeat, major (like this one) or minor.
Getting easier to defeat him. Easier to bait him. He will still do lots of damage but his deterioration is catching up to him.

"Lame duck" is right. I'll say "wounded duck." Mary Trump understands him on two levels: family and her profession. I have great respect for her, and recognize her as a brave patriot.
I've seen hundreds of hilarious posters, both from people at rallies and internet artists, making fun of the felon. Art is so important in lifting social consciousness, as you being a Beatle fan know. Soon as I get the chance, I will be meeting with a group of old friends and associates to make new posters and banners. I explain the madness in my mind, and Bill the artist makes it happen. (I'm thinking of trying out for a scholarship, as I have a class reunion this summer.)

All I can come up with is projecting images of him and Epstein on the capitol building during the SOTU address.

The felon is such a creature of lizard behavior, he doesn't know when to shut up. It's not as he planned, and his unstable rant will not serve him well in the future. I'm confident that most federal courts will continue to rule against him. Obviously, Cannon is the type one might have found in the Manson family, but even her attempts to protect her messiah will be overturned.

(18,528 posts)Serious question, because I actually don't know the answer: in your long boxing career, how much criminality did you see? How rigged is the game?

(78,905 posts)It would take me hours upon hours to fully answer that! Boxing is a corrupt sport, always has been, always will be. And it goes beyond mis-matches and bad decisions. I'll give but two examples that you might find interesting. Keep in mind that my Uncle David was a BCI Senior Investigator who often coordinated with the FBI in investigating organized crime -- which exercised control of the sport from the amateurs to the professionals.
My brothers & I frequented a gym in an area city. The fighters, managers, and promoters that were there knew we were David's nephews. I remember one saying, "Hey, Tom, what's up with your Uncle David? Tell him that we treat you well." And they did. Then, they had a fighter who fought on the undercard of the Fight of the Century ask if he could stay at our house, while he worked construction thirty miles away. We didn't stop to think about all the motels in that 30-mile stretch other workers were staying at!
This guy was at the time a top sparring partner for Jerry Quarry and Oscar Bonavena. We were hay seeds. He did teach us a lot, and we had a great time in the weeks he stayed with us. It was only years later that I learned from an associate of the owners of the construction company that the boxer had been tasked with getting my brother -- a vicious fighter -- to work as muscle to attack union leaders. They said if they had Tom, it would be like having David's balls in their hands. But he told the owners he couldn't, because staying at our house reminded him of being on the set of "The Waltons."
When my other brother and I took our seats at ringside for the second Ali vs Frazier fight, we saw the owners of that construction firm up at the ring. My brother got along well with them, and went up and chatted with the pair. A couple months later, the brothers were behind bars, facing state and federal charges, for which they were convicted. Of course, my brothers and I thought, "Darn you, Uncle David! They treat us nice!"
Another former world champion from a more distance city offered my brother a 10-year contract, sight unseen. He had heard of my brother fighting in his city, and he used to fight on cards my great Uncle Pat promoted. My brothers & I thought we were reaching the Big Time. But my father had Uncle David check the ex-champ's status, which ranked fairly high in the mob. So no deal!
I could go on and on. But corruption saturates the sport, and capitalizes on the ignorance of fighters.

(78,905 posts)I found funny in amateur boxing was that the winner was given twice as much "gas money" than the loser. Not that I ever got the short end, but other guys from my team did!
Note: I did fight on one pro card. I was on the undercard the night a guy who would win the light heavyweight title in less than a year lost an upset decision to an old family friend. There was a snotty-nosed undefeated kid I couldn't stand since his amateur days. A year before, he tried being friendly with me in the dressing room of a tournament I won. Me being the kid with a chip on my shoulder, I told him I didn't like his attitude in the ring and would kick his ass eventually. He was arrogant in the ring, conceited about his skill level. There wasn't room enough for both of us in NYS. So although he was a weight class heavier than me, I kicked his ass in front of 5,000 people. (He was a good sport afterwards, so I kind of liked him.)
My brother and I had fought for a former pro who fought Charlie Burley and others from the infamous "Murderers' Row," and had been a stable mate of Jack Dempsey's early in his career. Carl was a great guy -- a retired cop, who scared us by never driving less than twice the speed limit, even in the winter. But he was purely offensive in boxing skills. Kind of an early Carmen Basilio, who was sorely offended if an opponent missed a punch. Since our middle brother was able to teach both offense and defense -- he was later a student of Angelo Dundee and Manny Steward -- we opted to fight out of our own club. (Carmen did my brother's pro debut, and I'll tell you what Rubin had to say about that sometime!)
Since we fought from a neighborhood outside a hamlet with a population of 35, city promoters started out matching us against their top dogs. That led to them matching us against their top dogs who were at least one weight class above us. When that didn't work well for them, they wanted us to fight sacrificial lambs, something I only did once ..... two guys who should have fought me refused to even get dressed, so in my 324th fight, they put me in with a kid in his first fight. I could have stopped him, but let up when I'd hurt him. That was my last amateur fight, before taking my frustrations out on that other fellow.
The worst thing, in my opinion, was the scoring that always favored the home-town fighters. I remember one time, my brother told a promoter he was hesitant to put our guys on his cards, due to bad decisions. The guy said, "Tell you what -- we'll put two of your guys against black kids, so as long as it goes to the decision, your guys will win." At the time, two of the four of us going to fight on that card were black.
I think that USA Boxing does a better job these days than the AAU did back in my day. But they aren't totally clean -- I told two commissioners about a guy who wore illegal (and dangerous) hand wraps. They refused to do anything. So I said if one of my guys was to fight him, the would be wearing the exact same wraps. They acted like I was out of line.

(37,706 posts)...extremely partisan Supremes have done everything in their disgusting contempt for the Constitution to knock it out.
I think that the courts will hold. Of course I strongly disagree with a couple of their decisions this century. And there are creeps like Cannon. Yet while the courts hold, the felon will refuse to honor their rulings. If we do not elect a Congress where both houses honor the Constitution, we are going to be in a tough position.
