Frozen meatballs sold at Aldi recalled after 'metal fragments' found

https://www.usatoday.com/story/grocery/2026/02/23/frozen-meatballs-recalled-aldi/88821923007/

Frozen ready-to-eat meatballs sold nationwide at the supermarket chain Aldi have been recalled due to a potential contamination issue, officials say.

According to a Feb. 22 notice from the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service, 9,462 pounds of products by Rosina Food Products may have been contaminated with metal.

"The problem was discovered after FSIS received a consumer complaint regarding metal fragments found within the product," the notice stated. "There have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of these products."

The FSIS reported that products included in the recall are the "Bremer FAMILY SIZE ITALIAN STYLE MEATBALLS" with "about 64 meatballs" inside. The 32-oz. product has a "Best By" date of Oct. 30, 2026. It also has a timestamp range printed on the label: 17:08 to 18:20.
