Spurious News: King Charles trolls Trump with bizarre state dinner menu request!

WASHINGTON (Spurious News Network) -- When planners were setting up the state banquet honoring Great Britain's King Charles, they had no idea what the monarch prefers to eat. Their solution was to call Windsor Castle and ask for suggestions.

"The king loves stargazy pie," they told them. It was dutifully served to the king, Donald Trump and Trump's friends at a gala dinner. Trump ate his with two scoops of ice cream on top of it.

Long seen as one of England's most bizarre dishes, stargazy pie is a savory entree most known because one of its ingredients is whole sardines, and the sardines are placed into the pie so their heads - which aren't eaten - are sticking out of the top crust. It's based on a Cornish legend that says a fisherman named Tom Bawcock saved the town of Mousehole, which is pronounced "mow-zul," by going out in a severe storm to catch enough fish to feed the population. When he got back with his catch they baked them all into a huge pie; the bakers drew the fish heads through the top crust so its eaters would know there was fish in it.

It appears the king doesn't actually like stargazy pie. According to a public affairs officer for the British Crown, "The king believes stargazy pie is one of the most disgusting things one can put in his mouth. He simply asked us to tell Trump's people he liked it to see if they'd be stupid enough to make it - and they were."
