I don't want to react to every request...I can't financially. But I do want to start investing in a Democratic bluewave in November. It has to. if we want to survive as a country.
Does the DCCC or ActBlue have a single point of donation that analyzes all races in the country and allocates where the money will do the most good?
If so, I'd really appreciate a link. I want to make a monthly donation to one source that will apply the money where it is most effective.

(31,956 posts)God knows how many spam emails. My guess, over 100.
Just from candidates in other states that need a donation. I don't have time to evaluate every candidate or their chance at winning... I want to donate to races where I believe the candidate has a shot and aligns mostly with my values ( with allowances made for their locality and voters ).

(11,888 posts)There are about ten of these. Look at the Cook political report.

(2,125 posts)The fact that I get emails and texts from virtually EVERY candidate in EVERY state no matter how big or small the campaign is is a HUUUUUGE turn-off. Do they really expect everyone can afford to donate to campaigns that can do nothing for us locally?
I wish there was a box to check to state I do not authorize you to share my contact info with anyone. If they do, Im blocking them for all time. Why the hell would they pester us peons for donations when theyre already taking them from billionaires?
Yes, Ive probably done it to myself. Need to stop signing every petition that pisses me off because Im sure thats where a lot of this begging crap stems from. *sigh*

(2,011 posts)A big part of the problem is we don't have as many super wealthy donors as Republicans. There's no Democratic equivalent to what Musk spent or even the Koch brothers.

are they alienating by encouraging everyone nationwide to make use of our contact info? How manylike meget so pissed off that they throw up their hands and give nothing at all?
Surely, theyd get a better response if they begged ONLY within their specific areas. I mean seriouslywhy should someone in Florida care enough to send even $5 to a local candidate in Oregon, Alabama, Wisconsin, Texas, or New Mexico (Ive gotten emails from all those places in the last two weeks, among others)?
All theyre looking at is that they need money, not whether it makes sense. The fact that it IS so easy to just add you to a database and that EVERYONE is using is the major problem. Its just mindboggling that the DNC hasnt thought this through any better than that.

(22,975 posts)I don't typically open them. It's to spam levels at this point. From email titles, I can construe that Mark Kelly, for example, has made his decision a bunch of times. I don't know if these are multiple decisions, or if he is really proud about one; as I said, I don't open them.
The situation is dire for some being out-raised, outspent, or simply in trouble for others. Honestly, if the asks weren't daily (hourly?) and were not so pointedly grim and stupid, I be inclined to donate more.

(7,291 posts)I, too, am inundated with requests from races big and small from all over the country. I've decided that this year, I'm going to mainly give to races in my own state, where I know the issues and where the candidates stand on each. Of course, I'm looking only at the Democrats, but there are choices among them prior to the primaries. Also, my state could really do a major swing this year, and I want to support that. (What really bugs me, is when I get requests from candidates out of state before they have even won their primaries. I mean, I won't be contributing to anyone out of state until they are the actual candidate in their state or district.) I also have to dial back the overall amount I've contributed in the past. Sorry, that's the state of the economy....
