You DUers but with all the bullshit of the last 16 months, I'm starting to feel like the victim of political rape.

(103,792 posts)They way we're constantly getting steamrolled and fucked every goddamn day by the regime, all three branches and their billionaire owners.
If shit gets worse, I hope I die before they come and lock me up for thinking that I live in a once democratic society.

💔💙 ☮️🌻🕯️🕊️💜
But with the constant onslaught, not sure how much more surviving there is to have.
Not much talk about it but the food producing regions of the planet are being devastated by either man-made climate induced disasters like floods, tornadoes, hail storms and drought. The stupidity in the WH upsetting the Middle East is making that worse and then the approval of polluting our water and land and air...
We don't deserve to be forced into our own demise by idiots and assholes when so many of us want to change the trajectory.

Don't let perfection be your (our) enemy.

We understand that not everybody can take every action this Friday, and were holding space for that nuance. The most important thing you can do on May Day is something that feels authentic to you that rejects and disrupts business as usual. If you cant do it all, we only ask that you do what you can. Learn more about what that could look like on Indivisibles May Day Participation Guide.
This all started small, because people took whatever action they could, while perfectionists in comfy offices were debating over shrimp cocktail, and still are.
Do whatever you can!

Whatever you do builds momentum.
First protest, I couldn't attend so I sent some money Indivisible's way to defray costs.
You guess the amount.

cents, not dollars.
And I'm totally in on that. I hope there are far more who feel like I do who will take action and keep it up through November and beyond.

(7,906 posts)That the majority of us are suffering PTSD. When things finally settle down we should either be remunerated for our suffering or offered free -PTSD therapy including free counseling, meds, and service animals where applicable. I think that's the least the institutions of government owe for failing us so badly.
Many of us won't live long enough to see even our democracy and rights regained, I'm afraid.

(103,792 posts)PTSD before this all got started so it's been a long haul for me and all others with it or something like it.
I had a therapist before I moved, might be looking for one again before long.
I agree, it's the least they can do after all this.
But I honestly dont think that most people feel the trauma that a lot of us here do from the utter depravity of this administration. I live in one of the most highly educated parts of the country and I am constantly amazed at how little people here know about whats going on and how little they seem to care.
Personally, I dont especially care about the price of eggs or even the price of gas; Im a lot more concerned about the loss of our democracy. I dont know what it will take to wake people up. But for those of us who have been traumatized by this administration, we are owed some form of mental health reparations.

(7,906 posts)it's the loss of civility, and hardening of hearts of at least 1/3 of Americans. That they would treat the vulnerable the way they do, egg it on, and gain joy in it is so disheartening and traumatizing.

(103,792 posts)It sure feels like that.
Has to be over soon or there will be a response from the public that they may not be able to quash... and it could get really ugly.
I'm too old for this.
