Just read that Gov. Mills is suspending her campaign and this is not the first high profile Democrat that has done so. This is encouraging because rather than conduct a costly and divisive effort against opponents who are clearly favored, thus Democrats are prudently taking the road toward universal unity to prevent a dilution of the voting pool. This provides the foundation for an overwhelming majority come November with a declarative, precise message.
That message hasn't been completely revealed as of yet but is coming soon.

(14,570 posts)I'm afraid some moderates may switch to Dithering Susie because they're afraid of Platner, and we'll get 6 more years of HER. I'm a little afraid he could be a loose cannon a la Fetterman, OTOH, he could be more like Angus King, or benefit from his mentorship if he will listen to him, or like Bernie. I suspect that this election might be closer than we wish and could go either way.

(12,453 posts)You will vote for someone that has withdrawn over the Democrat that won their primary?
How, exactly does that help if Collins gets elected again?
Saying you think Collins will win while taking an action that will do just that, seems like a self-fulling prophecy.
I agree, there are candidates, especially for president, I absolutely loath but if they are the nominee I will vote for them. Because nothing is more important than making sure Republicans never have control over public policies ever again. Even if the candidate isn't my ideal.
