I have received 3 texts over the past month telling me that I have a traffic warrant out for my arrest, because I didnt pay my toll bill in the state of Nebraska. The first one that I received, I called the traffic division directly to check to see if was real & the lady I talked to said that it was a scam. I said that I thought it was but because I travel thru different states, I didnt need to have any issues. She was more than welcome to help out.
Today, I received 2 more texts saying the same thing! I blocked the number and deleted the texts.
I saw on Facebook, several law enforcement agencies were posting about the scams.
There are several different versions. They look legit, but the phone numbers dont match up with the states area code! If you should get one? Block the phone number 1st and delete the text! Dont open the link to respond!
Oh by the way! Nebraska do not have any toll roads! Not right now they dont, but with the idiots we have running this state? It could happen in the future!

(211 posts)I got a text this morning from the USPS to select delivery options on a package they were unable to deliver because I wasn't home to sign for it. The sending phone number had a country code of 63 (Philippines).
Yesterday I got email from the Social Security administration to confirm some change in my account. Showing full headers on the email revealed that it was sent by the host "mail.dnmchs.ru". Yes, that "ru" means it came from Russia.
I hope I live long enough to see our existing laws against spam and phishing enforced. This seems like the "wild west" before the sheriff came to town.
