OH-GOV: Vivek Ramaswamy's ties to Lutnicks and crypto raise conflict of interest questions in Ohio governor race
Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamys campaign reported receiving a gift from finance CEO Brandon Lutnick, a fellow crypto backer whose company invested millions in Ramaswamys Strive Enterprises financial services company.
Ramaswamy, the likely Republican nominee for governor in this years general election, reported the gift in his personal financial disclosures submitted to the state earlier this month.
Ohios ethics laws do not require candidates to disclose the gift amount, but all gifts valued at $75 or more in value must be reported. Ramaswamys campaign did not respond to a request to comment on the gifts or his relationship with Lutnick.
Lutnick, 27, is the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, a global financial services firm founded by his father, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Brandon Lutnick became the companys chairman after President Donald Trump named his father to his cabinet.
