Mayor Mamdani turns down MET Gala

I've been a Mamdani cheerleader for a long time - ever since he won the Democratic primary.

But the man skipped the best party in the best city on the best world while talking up the workers behind the creative work produced.

If invited, I might end up going to the MET Gala. The gift bags have to be worth bank.

What a blessing our party has to see the most American city be led by a man that is the product of an American story?


Also -- we went to the same high school. We had a few of the same teachers!

I don’t care about the celebs strutting their stuff at the stupid event.

I like that he’s also bringing attention to the people behind the fashion industry who often don’t have the best working conditions (especially if they’re in other countries).

Its lame I suppose but I thought Mayor Mamdani was cool and he seems cool.
But it is just funny how human biases work.

After I found out he was Mira Nair’s son I was a little…oh ..
Can’t stand Hollywood, Bollywood etc.
