Twenty dollars for mayo?

Could not believe my eyes when I was just at the grocery store. A small jar of mayo (some kind of independent brand) for twenty bucks! Even the Best Foods was twelve bucks for the regular size. We found a store brand on sale for 4.99, but yikes!

1. Our Safeway in a HCOL area has mayo from $3.99-8.99

The majority is $3.99 to 5.99, including all of the Best Foods.

I am really curious what store this is. We mainly shop at TJ's and the local co-op for bulk stuff, but Safeway is close, and for a few things we go there since it's union.

5. We're almost at ten dollar gas already

in CA! But I'll stay with my supermarket as long as they continue to carry the store brand that is more affordable.
