Politico has become as bad as Fox and CBS for kowtowing to the GOP agenda:
That Gas Tax is Looking Rosier
A lot of states, including Washington State, have a gas sales tax levied to help support highway maintenance. Trump's Iran War pushing gas to nosebleed levels is putting pressure on a lot of states to reduce or waive that tax, but of course the downside is that this also cuts into already constrained state revenues, making the states even more vulnerable to selective transportation funding cuts by Trump.
