snip-"It's official: Republican entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will face off against Democrat Dr. Amy Acton in the race to replace Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
Ramaswamy, 40, of Upper Arlington, easily defeated his primary foe, Casey Putsch, after a roller coaster GOP primary that started in early 2025. Ramaswamy said the victory projected strength and unity among Republicans headed into what could be a competitive general election.:
snip-"Ramaswamys victory was sealed with early support from President Donald Trump, the Ohio Republican Party, DeWine and a plethora of GOP elected officials. Ramaswamy, a biotech billionaire, recently tapped into his personal wealth to loan his campaign $25 million.
Ramaswamy consolidated GOP support last year, forcing Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost out of the race. Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel, a former Ohio State University head football coach, considered, but ultimately didnt pursue, a gubernatorial bid."

can't we just have our wins?
LisaL
(47,485 posts)Especially considering there was very little doubt Brown was going to end up as the nominee and Acton was running un-opposed. There was no surprise here whatsoever. But nobody is stopping you from doing so.

(7,837 posts)Brown is right at the top. I'm thinking people are already having buyer's remorse about Bernie Moreno getting in. Husted calling him a liberal the next 5.5 months is not going to carry as much weight this time around.

(42,146 posts)Sherrod cannot get back into the Senate unless every one of you is committed to help. This was the easy win, but it will be harder in November. You can make this happen, and get Sherrod Brown back to the Senate where he belongs!

(3,030 posts)Democrat, who was one of the largest bundlers for Obama. We've attended many of her events, most recently for Josh Turek, Adam Schiff, Cory Booker, and my favorite, Jamie Raskin. Many more in past years, such as Nancy Pelosi, Mark Kelly, and Pete Buttigieg.
The Sherrod Brown you see on the TV is the same one we met and listend to, he's very down to earth. He repeated that he never intended to run again, but considering the current administration he feels it's his duty to do so. OK, but I also believe that once this is in your blood its hard to opt out. Regardless, I thinks he's the best we have to take back this very important Senate seat.

She always does a nice display! Have a cookie!
