(25,668 posts)He starts out building his wall without authorization, without oversight or planning.
He and his minions start collecting funds from private sources, though that money "disappears" and no one can account for it.
Then he starts juggling money around, taking money designated by Congress for other programs and diverting those funds to his wall.
Finally, he gets a compliant Congress to authorize billions of spending to build a symbolic "wall" (actually, more of a fence) that is nothing like the wall he promised.
Billions in missing money, taxpayers on the hook for billions more, a half-assed wall that is easily breached, and the Donald gets his way once again.
Mission Accomplished!

(10,677 posts)who feels like this is a "let them eat cake" last straw moment?
I am outraged by so much since January 2025, but for some reason, this expensive, ornate, unnecessary narcissistic vulgarity is such a prime example of trump's total disengagement from real people in this country that I'm rethinking pitchforks and guillotines. (not meant as a call for violence)
It's not that this is the worst thing they've done and are doing. The racism, the hate, and the lack of basic human empathy has been gut-wrenching. I've been sick at heart for so long. But somehow this ballroom and all it represents is making me a little crazy (crazier).
