We can use it to help people and to improve the world if done right.

What you thought of the AI restoration. After loading it in Photoshop with increased unsharp mask, the AI version looks like a demented, redheaded troll with lunatic eyes.

Now, if that's how you looked as a kid, all well and good. Otherwise, total, abject failure.
